DIY DRESSER FACE-LIFT

Hey guys, today I thought I would share a DIY!
My fiances aunt and uncle were getting rid of this dresser & since we just moved into our new place we decided to take it off their hands.
It was really simple to give this dresser a face-life, it only needed a new coat of paint and some new hard wear.
Step One: First I sanded the entire dresser, this will help the paint stick and last a lot longer!
Step Two: Paint the dresser! I did 2 coats!
Step Three: Once dry, apply a top coat.
Step Four: Find handles that you like and fit your space. Since this dresser was a little older it was extremely hard to find handles that fit. Since I couldn't find any that I really liked I decided to go with knobs. I found all of these knobs at Home Depot. The silver knobs were $1.50 each and the pretty glass knobs were $3.40 each!
* Side Note - Since our dresser is older and the drawers were a different thickness, our knob screws were too long. Home Depot exchanged all the screws free of charge! Awesome service!

Below is a few extra pictures!
Happy DIY-ing!

JANUARY FAVORITES

Hello Everyone, welcome back to my blog!
So sorry I have been m.i.a lately, I have been planning a lot of exciting things!
I recently got ENGAGED! & my fiance and I are heading off to Thailand to backpack as of Feb 22nd!
I started a new blog where I will be posting all of my travel adventures so be sure to check it out! Its called the Travel Manuel! Here's the link! www.travelmanuel.blogspot.com
Anyways, back to the beauty gossip! I wanted to share my January Favorites with all of you because I found some new products I've been LOVING!

First product I have been absolutely loving that I have had for a while but thought I would share in case any of you haven't tried it yet is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. I use the lightest shade & use it to conceal and highlight!
It has a fantastic consistency! Its creamy but doesn't crease under your under eye. Its the best concealer I have used in a long time! When I am running late or having a day I don't want to wear a lot of makeup, I simple just use this under my eyes and on my problem areas and put a little pressed powder over top and I'm good to go! This product is a 10 out of 10 for me!

Another product I have been loving is again by Mayballine & it's their Studio Face Master Prime Primer. I'm currently using the one redness control & to blur any imperfections. I love this primer because it really does help with my redness! Its a green colour which helps mask the red colour in your skin. The consistency of the formula is great, its not sticky or tacky and dries quickly. I find this primer helps keep my foundation on all day! I work in a  restaurant so my skin gets oily and dirty quickly and recently since I started wearing this primer I have noticed my skin is a lot less oily after my shift! This product is an 9 out of 10 for me!

Again with the Maybelline products! No, I am not sponsored to talk about them, they are just by far my favorite drugstore product! This product could be my all time favorite (for this month anyways) & its their Master Contour, Blush and Highlight Pallet! I ADORE this product! Its creamy and pigmented and stays on all day! The highlight for me is to die for! Its so flattering on my pale skin and the contour is the perfect colour for my skin! I have been loving the contour colour for in my crease & the highlight for the inner corners of my eyes and eye brow bone! I am bringing this pallet on my trip for sure! Its perfect for the face & eyes!! 10 out of 10 for sure!

Since above I mentioned my eyes, a product I have been loving lately and have hit pan on each shadow is the Sonia Kashuk eye shadow pallets! I own every one and love all of them! My favorite is the brown natural with the silver/gold ish sparkle shades! Its has a great crease colour & the shimmer shade is great for a pop of colour in the center of your eye! I have been using this small pallet for almost a year & still have a ton of product left, a little goes a long way and the pigmentation is fantastic! This is also a 10 out of 10 for me!

& lastly this product is new for me and I have only been using it for about a week now but have been pretty impressed with it! Its the Rimmel 24 hour Super Curl. On the packaging is says no need to use an eye lash curler, the brush does it all for you & that's totally true! This mascara is great! It spreads your lashes while giving you the length and curl you desire. Its very buildable as well which is great! I use this mascara along side my number 1 which is the Maybelline Stiletto. I have always been a double mascara girl, I'm not too sure why but I find I always need to use two to get the length and curl I love! This mascara is perfect for traveling and will definitely be coming with me so that I don't need to bring a lash curler! This one isn't quit a 10 out of 10 for me but its pretty close with an 8 out of 10!

I hope you enjoyed my January Favorites and I hope this inspires you to try a few new products! These are all from the drugstore and very affordable! Again, I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while but I made it my New Year's resolution to post more often! Now that I am not working I will be able to post more frequently! Be sure to check out my Travel Blog to see what I'm up to!! Thanks for reading!

REVLON LIP REVIEW

Hello everyone and happy new year!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a safe and happy new years. To jump back into the swings of things, I thought I would do a review on 3 Revlon lip products I received for Christmas!

REVLON COLORBURST
Balm Stain
045 Romantic

This colour is truly just like the name. Its a very romantic red. The red is not as pigmented as I would have liked but I have to keep in mind its a stain and not a lipstick. The smell is surprising, it has a hint of  peppermint and I really enjoyed it. Although this is a stain, it still gave me great moisture. Throughout the day I did have to touch this one up quit a bit, that's just because red lips need more attention. If you like a red lip that is more natural looking - this is for you! Its sheer, light weight and perfect for everyday use!

REVLON COLORBUST
Matte Balm
215 Shameless

I'm completely in love with this lip formula! The colour is a little bold for me but the formula is to die for! I really enjoy the matte finish! It was very easy to apply and the pigmentation is amazing. Its very fill coverage and I did not see any patchiness throughout the day. This colour stayed on with little to no touch ups. The smell is smilier to the balm stain with a hint of peppermint. I will totally be going back to the store and grabbing a few of these in other colours!

REVLON JUST BITTEN KISSABLE
Balm Stain
005 Crush

This formula is the exact same as the colorbust formula, its very light weight and more of a sheer coverage. It really gives great moisture with a tint of colour. The smell is just like the others with a hint of peppermint. The just bitten was very easy to wear! I did not have to touch it up too much because even after it started to fad it looked very natural. This colour is gorgeous and perfect for all skin tones. Its the perfect deep pink.

I really do enjoy all three of these products but I would really recommend the matte balm. I love the coverage it gives and that you didn't need to touch it up much throughout the day. If your someone who likes minimal makeup I would then recommend the other two! They are very light weight and more sheer making them easier to wear on a day to day basis.
I hope my review and pictures help when your shopping for your own lip products!
Stay tuned for my next review on Cover Girl mascaras!
